 Welcome

 Disco Fever

Donna Summer
The disco music began at the end of 1970 and the beginning of the years 1980. Diffused in the discotheques, then new places of leisures, the disco music mingled a fast tempo with a low rock'n'roll powerful, often raised latinos percussions . This preregistered music, was diffused uninterrupted and supported by worked out lightings, attracted the amateurs of dance, who preferes it to the live music played in the clubs. Although derived from the twist (a dance of the beginnings of the rock'n'roll, that one only carried out), the disco music, more complex and more spectacular, requires a partner.

The film Saturday Night Fever, 1977 of John Badham, with John Travolta and Karen Lynn Gorney, with the music by the Bee Gees, started a wave of enthusiasm for disco music and a vast public opened up to it, whereas there remained until - there held with the young people of the large cities.
The passion for the disco music declined at the beginning of the years 1980, leaving the place with other styles of music.
Among the great names of the disco music, in addition to Bee Gees, one you will quote Donna Summer, Gloria Gaymor and The Village People.

 L'origin
Thus, the interpreters and groups of the large house of discs Tamla Motown (Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder, Temptations), which resorts to musical arrangements and settings on very sophisticated scenes, use traditional topics of the negro music (personal honor, fidelity in love) to be made the spokesman of the social rise of the average layers of the ghetto. But these aspirations are not only those of the young Blacks; one finds them everywhere in adolescent or young adults, who want to profit during their leisure from the money that they gained during the week. Thus was born, about 1972, the philly sound, ancestor of the disco music – music of discotheque – composed especially for the dance. The disco music is an international phenomenon, because it is also the fact of producers German, French or Italian, who, using the resources of musical data processing (synthetizers in particular), to create measure of the tubes directly adapted at the requests of the "consumers" of discotheques.
